Alex M. Peltzer

Attorney

Alex focuses on municipal and special district law, with an emphasis on water and other environmental law and policy.  He served as the appointed City Attorney for the City of Visalia, a charter city of approximately 126,000 residents from 2006 through 2016.  He currently serves as the Assistant City Attorney.    As the provider of City Attorney services the firm provides all necessary legal documents, advises on City policies and practices, reviews and participates in the negotiation of labor agreements, and advises on all areas of California law. 

Alex is the general counsel for the South Valley Water Association, representing a large portion of the federal Central Valley Project Contractors on the Friant-Kern Canal.  Alex serves as a general counsel to public irrigation districts in Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties, including Tulare Irrigation District, Lower Tule River Irrigation District and Kaweah & St. Johns Rivers Association. He has worked extensively with all major federal water-related agencies, and has represented his water clients in major federal water litigation, including litigation over the Central Valley Project and San Joaquin River restoration. He has advised on countless water transfer transactions, and has participated in collaborative efforts to find regional solutions to water supply and water quality challenges.

In addition, Alex represents numerous private clients in real property and water matters.
